'Pull yourself together'는 문맥에 따라 '진정해' 도 될 수 있고 '정신차려!'도 될 수 있습니다. 해당 장면은 한글 자막으로 "뚝 그쳐"라고 표현되었습니다. 그리고 이렇게 동사를 앞으로 가져와 '명령어'의 느낌으로 사용할 수도 있지만 주어를 앞으로 가져와서 상황을 표현하여 사용할 수도 있습니다.

"She pulled herself together for a days," 라고 하면 "그녀는 며칠 마음을 가다듬었고,"라고 말할 수 있습니다.

얘야, 언제까지 우리에게 쌀쌀맞게 굴거니?

'차가운 어깨를 주다' 라는 뜻으로 직역되는데요, 여기에 쓰인 shoulder는 어깨라는 표현 보다 양고기의 앞다리살을 뜻합니다. 차가운 고기를 내어주다, 라는 관용구로 '냉대하다'라는 의미를 가집니다.

1800년대 소설 '골동품 수집가'에서 나온 표현이 관용어가 되었다는 설이 있네요.

그 이후로 차가운 고기만 주었다. 라는 뜻으로, 냉담하게 굴었다는 의미를 가지게 되었습니다.
